WESTERN VISAYAS BATTLES NORTHERN MINDANAO FOR FIRST SOFTBALL GAME OF NATIONAL PRISAA GAMES

The 2015 National PRISAA Games was formally opened last Saturday, April 11, at the West Visayas Sports Complex here in Iloilo City.

Most of the games started the following day except for some events that are played in Central Phillippine University.

For the softball event, this year’s competition will once again gather the best softball teams from all regions of the country in one diamond which is considered by the tournament manager as being at par with the international softball field standard.

This would also be the first time that the games will be played in an established diamond from a home team.

Games will be played at the Central Philippine University Softball Field and competition will start on Monday, April 13, at 8am with the defending champion Region 6 Softball team seeing action against the 2012 runner-up, Region 10.

Games the following days will start at 7am.

The Region 6 Softbelles, a 3-time National PRISAA Champion and playing in their very own turf, will be looking forward to defend the title they won last year in Tagum City against CAR.

The Western Visayas Softball team is represented by the Central Philippine University Golden Lions Softball and two softball athletes from Saint Anthony College of Antique and are coached by Pastor Kim Dela Cruz and Pastor Mark Arliss Cloma.
